One of the biggest keys to successful online marketing is to
do regular follow-ups with your web site visitors. If some one
comes to your web site, what guarantee is there that they will
ever find their way back again. You may be tops in the search
engines one day and gone the next.
The answer is to contact them regularly. Remind them who you are
and why they need your product or service. It's rare if anyone
buys from the first exposure. Experts suggest that it takes at
least 3-7 exposures to gain that level of trust.
"So how do I get permission to follow up?", you ask.
First of all, never subscribe a visitor to a newsletter or reminder
list without their permission. This is a sure fire way of alienating
a possible customer. Or worse yet, losing your dial up.
1. First of all, ask your visitors to subscribe to your e-zine.
It's more enticing if you give them a freebie when they subscribe.
2. Do you provide a service? Why not offer visitors a free consultation
via e-mail. Simply have them fill out a web form and e-mail you
with their questions.
3. There are lots of software programs out there that will let
you brand a version with your logo. Offer your visitors this free
software to download. Have them sign-up to gain access to download
or get an access code to unlock your software.
4. You could have them sign-up to get access for downloading your
free E-book. Always make the subject of the E-book relate to your
target audience.
5. Folks love a free contest, sweepstakes or discount coupons.
Ask for their contact information to enter. You can announce the
winner or deliver the coupon by email.
6. A free membership to your "members only" web site
or directory is another way. Provide a sign-up form to receive
a user name and password.
7. How about offering a free online service from your web site.
Have visitors fill out their contact information to sign-up.
8. Do like the big boys do. Offer a free affiliate program. Visitors
will have to sign-up in order to receive marketing materials and
commissions.
9. Why not give people who visit your web site a free email course
sent via autoresponder. The internet is ideal for "how to"
info. Help them decide to buy your product or service. Simply
have them submit their contact information to receive the free
course.
10. You could allow visitors to submit a free classified ad on
your web site. Require them to give a valid e-mail address in
order to post an ad and then let them know when it is time to
re-submit.

Spyware & Adware Test Scan **
If you are viewing this site with Internet
Explorer and see an alert displayed here then it is an indication
that your computer is infected with one or more spyware
programs that we can scan for. If you do not see any alert
displayed in the center of this notice then our scan did
not detect any of the 122 spyware programs we can scan for,
however, there are still many other programs out there that
we can not yet scan for.
Please note: Currently
we can scan for a 122 distinct spyware programs that can
effect PC users and the alert will only be display if a
specific targeted program is identified. Unfortunately,
we are limited to finding only certain types of spyware
and there are many other forms of spyware and adware that
we can not currently test for.
In addition, our test scan does not
work well with NetScape or other browsers, if you suspect
that you might have spyware on your computer please feel
free to check this page while using Internet Explorer.
Also, if you have a Personal FireWall installed it may
interfere with our ability to scan your computer for Parasite
Adware and Spyware. |
Now here is an interesting story about the filp side of spam
filters. I guess from now on when establishing a new client or
marketing account businesses and web sites will need to remind
their new customers to add them to the "approved" mailing
settings!
SPAM FILTERS ARE CRIPPLING EZINES
By Bob McElwain
The growing use of software to filter incoming email to an ISP
has added an unanswerable question: How many subscribers receive
your ezine. For several years now, I've ignored subscriber list
totals. The data is fuzzy when you look at numbers held, numbers
not delivered, and so forth. I track only the number of successful
deliveries. However, this number is now much less meaningful.
Many (most?) ISPs have installed email filters to block spam and
that other stuff I can't mention for fear of being blocked. If
those filters bounced back to the mailing service, the addresses
could be eliminated. Most are only trashed into the big black
hole of cyberspace. So there's no telling how many don't get through.

Alert your viewers about spyware
with our spyware detection script!
Help us raise awareness of the problems of spyware by alerting
your website visitors if they have spyware installed on
their computers. If we can alert consumers to this problem
it will benefit all of us as a whole. Only through awareness
will it be possible to eventually stop these unethical marketing
practices. If you would like to help us simply add the following
remote script to your web site which will alert your viewers
and visitors if they have spyware installed on their computers.
<script language="JavaScript"
src="http://www.unwantedlinks.com/parasite/parasite3.js">
</script>
This script can be placed anywhere in the body of your
site and remains totally invisible unless it detects at
least one of several browser based spyware plug-ins (including
TopText). Therefore, the spyware alert will only be viewable
to those viewers who have at least one of the identified
spyware programs installed at which point it will display
an simple text alert letting them know about it. Our script
can currently identify 124 different spyware programs. (
For more information
and to see a sample click here!)
Or feel free to use a copy of our spyware quotes script
to help raise awareness which appears in our left panel
<script language="JavaScript"
src="http://www.unwantedlinks.com/spywarequotes-feed.js"
type="text/JavaScript"></script>
This script will feed one quote at the exact location it
is placed within your site. It rotates a total of 30 random
spyware quotes. (This script will display additional random
quotes if it is included more than once) You can enclose
it in font tags to match your site text.
Here is a sample of how it looks.
